Welcome to the International Seminar Day on Commercializing Sports Innovations! This unique event brings together experts, investors, and innovators at the Sibelius Hall on April 9, 2024. Throughout the day, we will dive deep into the current state and future possibilities of sports technology, explore international projects supporting the growth of the sports tech sector in Europe, and hear expert talks illuminating the latest trends and innovations.

The event is part of the I3-INSHAPE project's initiatives, which aim to assist in the commercialization of European sports and wellness innovations through cross-regional collaboration.

The event is aimed for entities engaged in sports, wellness, and associated technology and research and development activities to attend in person. The event is also apt for growth companies and those eager to network with the international partners of the INSHAPE project. There is a limited number of places available for on-site participation.

9:45 SERCF brings engineering sciences to the next generation of sports equipment development, Prof. Aki Mikkola, Sports Engineering Research Center Finland

Prf. Aki Mikkola is an internationally respected researcher who has introduced a new method of analyzing machine behavior to Finland. In his research, Mikkola has developed a theory that enables the modeling and simulation of machines and equipment in virtual environments, making it possible to visually observe functional deficiencies at early stages of design.
